WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
& DO TO SUPPORT ME
Communication/Remain Calm (no yelling or screaming):
-
Things can get a little overwhelming for me and I have difficulties communicating my needs. For example, when things get loud at my worksites, I tend to yell or scream. You can help me by always using a calm voice and reminding me of the importance of always being professional. When I need a break, you can help me by asking me what I need. I will let you know that I need a timer.
Socialization:
-
Aside from the program, I do not have a lot of socialization. I can be a little shy and unwilling to socialize with others. You can help me by teaching me how to work well in a group setting and being a team player.
Professionalism/Keep Shoes On:
-
Sometimes I just can’t wait to take my shoes off! I might even take my shoes off during lunch, at a worksite, or in the car. Please remind me of the importance of being professional at all times while in the program. Tell me that I can take my shoes off at home.
