Motivate My Closet in Anaheim was established around 2017 as part of the nonprofit organization Clear Motivations. It was created to empower adults with disabilities by giving them hands-on job training and real work experience through a thrift store setting.

Starting as a small community shop, it provided affordable secondhand clothing while helping participants build skills like customer service, teamwork, and independence. Over time, it became more than just a store. It was a supportive environment where people could grow in confidence and prepare for future employment.

Sadly, Motivate My Closet has since closed its doors. While its physical space is gone, its impact remains meaningful. It showed how a simple idea—combining retail with purpose—can create real opportunities and change lives. Its legacy lives on in the individuals it supported and in the reminder that businesses can be built not just for profit, but for community and empowerment.
